Primordial Sound Meditation Workshop

with Sheila Sheeran

Saturday, December 15

1:00-4:00pm
$45

Meditation is a tool for rediscovering the body’s own inner intelligence. Practiced for thousands of years, it’s not about forcing the mind to be quiet; it’s about finding the silence that’s already there and making it part of your life. Primordial Sound Meditation is a journey to the center of our very being; a journey to emotional freedom, and a journey to the reawakening of our unconditioned self. Sheila will introduce you to the basic principles of meditation, it’s history, and practical aspects that will lead you to enjoy deeper peace, greater freedom, and mastery of life!

Sheila Sheeran is a Chopra Center Certified Meditation Instructor and the owner of the Shine Center, a boutique meditation and yoga studio in the heart of downtown Chatham.  She will guide us through a workshop teaching us the technique of Primordial Sound Meditation. This meditation technique originated from the ancient wisdom of India. You will be taught how to use this meditation on a daily basis to reawaken balance, tranquility and compassion within. Rock & Roll:  A Ball Rolling Workshop

with Susannah van der Wende

Saturday, January 19

2:00-3:30pm
$25 in advance / $30 day of workshop

Learn how to relieve chronic pain, release tension, reduce stress and improve posture, athletic performance and overall health and wellness through self-care massage techniques. Every structure in your body is covered in a layer of fascia, from your muscles to your blood vessels. The condition of the fascial layer is important to your overall health. Myofascial adhesions can lead to pain, discomfort and decreased flexibility. Body rolling is a technique where you break up adhesions in your fascia by “rolling” your body on a ball to create muscle compression, similar to the effect of a deep tissue massage.

In this class, you will learn easy and effective ball rolling techniques to massage deeply into the muscle tissues to break up knots and improve mobility. Susannah will guide you thru techniques of self-myofascial release to help alleviate tension in the muscles and fascia with Yoga TuneUpFitness® therapy balls to target key trigger points throughout the entire body. We will begin with a short gentle yoga practice to warm up the body, followed by strategic placement of the therapy balls for sustained compression. You will experience immediate benefits and walk away from this class feeling rejuvenated and renewed. And best of all, you'll be empowered to continue this self-care practice at home. No experience necessary, all bodies welcome, wear comfortable clothes. At PYCC DPORT!
